VIPA Automation India Pvt Ltd has launched new SLIO CPUs – a unique PLC System. SLIO – the name has stood for the most compact VIPA slice-based decentralized I/O system for almost three years. The new mechanical concept is combined with further innovations and offers a high-performance basis for automation applications. Thus, VIPA was successfully able to implement many applications together with customers within a short time. Now the SLIO I/Os are supplemented by a powerful CPU. So a complete controller platform can be placed on the compact SLIO system. It was clear from the start for all participants that the new SLIO CPU had to meet the following requirements: compact and able to communicate very well; performance comparable with 300S SPEED7 CPU; multi-programmable; and convincing price/performance ratio. The memory expansion provisionally in four steps is only one possible variation for generating the SLIO CPU. The customers and users can additionally select a Profibus connection – either slave or master – for their SLIO CPU. Thus, the CPU 015 offers the option of using a serial communication, e.g., via Modbus, Profibus and Profinet in parallel. All in all, a total of 24 CPU variations result from the two basic CPUs, the four memory versions and the three fieldbus connections.
