Optical Sensor For Automatic Or Manual Measurements

Optical Sensor For Automatic Or Manual Measurements

An optical, non-contact sensor for both automatic and manual measurements will be on display. The Optimet DP20 instrument fills the gap between high-precision, expensive measuring devices and economical optical or mechanical sensors without measuring capabilities, says the vendor. It is designed to perform QA functions on the production line. With an accuracy of up to 0.00004"(0.001 mm) after calibration and averaging on 100 measurements, the sensor performs measurements in 1 second. The object may be moved within the measurement field without affecting dimensional values. It has a range up to 0.787"(20 mm) with one sensor and unlimited range with two sensors. Two models are available-one with a wide/cylindrical beam optical receiver for irregular measurements, the other with a flat/narrow beam optical receiver for smooth surfaces or small components.
