O-Port Valves
VAAS Industries offers a range of bi-directional valves designed to handle difficult media such as abrasive slurries. O-port valves, Series 780, feature a through-going gate with a circular opening, which allows an unrestricted flow path when the valve is open. Any media that is in the flow path while the valve is closing is moved inside the valve body so that it does not hinder the movement of the gate. The bottom chamber is provided with flushing ports and a cover for periodically cleaning the valve body. Typical applications of the O-port valve are in handling rejected and recycled paper and pulp stock containing media such as pins, staples etc. Conventional knife gate valves may have a problem in reliable closure with such media, whereas the O-port valve handles them well. O-port valves can also be used for isolation of high consistency pulp stock.
