Emaar Impex offers Non-Volatile SRAM, CapStore nvSRAM, which is a combination of SRAM and EEPROM technologies on the same die. A Non-Volatile EEPROM element is incorporated in each SRAM cell. In SRAM mode, the memory operates as an ordinary static RAM, at SRAM speeds. In non-volatile mode, the SRAM data is transferred or recalled in parallel to/from the EEPROM, a permanent storage element. The data in the EEPROM can be modified over 100,000 times during the product"s lifetime. No battery is required for the transfer of data, as the required power is provided by an internal capacitor. The CapStore nvSRAM function is based on an integrated capacitor, while battery-backed RAMs depend on the voltage of their integrated lithium cell. The integrated capacitor provides the energy for the parallel data transmission from the SRAM into the shadow EEPROM at power-down. This data backup procedure is initiated by internal power control logic. Typical CapStore features: no battery necessary for data backup; 70 ns access time; power supply disconnected in less than 0.5 microseconds at power-down; 10 year data retention in EEPROM; data available within 0.65 milliseconds after power-up; commercial and industrial operating temperature ranges; storage temperature range -55(C to ±125(C; ESD protection> 2,000 V; standard PDIP packages; fully pin-compatible with battery-backed SRAMs; and direct replacement for Dallas parts (DS1220, DS1225, DS1230), STM parts (M48Z02, M48Z08, M48Z35) and Benchmark parts (BQ4010, BQ4011).
