Multi-Point Roller/Rotary Type Dressers (MPRD)
The roller dresser is having number of diamonds on its periphery. The diamonds are arranged in series. As soon as the diamonds on the indexed position are completely used up, the roller can be re-adjusted on the shank for new points. The diamonds can be completely used up and resetting is redundant. Since more than one point comes in contact with the grinding wheel the work load on the diamonds are evenly divided and so the diamonds last long which results in long life of dressers. It is used for larger wheels, where fine dressing is considered important and also used for cylindrical grinders.
