Multiblade-Reamers With Integrated Pre-Trimming Operation
LMT Fette (India) Belin – twinturbo multiblade-reamers with integrated pre-trimming operation. These are special tools for improving quality and profitability of finishing processes on castings, demonstrated on the throttle-valve casing of a bi-turbo engine – drillling and reaming of the pressure-die cast aluminium to Ø 57.0 H7 in one operation, without pre-machining. The tool performs two operations in one – 5 brazed PCD blanks, shaped as blades are in charge of the pre-trimming of the borehole, whereas the finishing work is done by two axially and radially adjustable PCD reaming-blades. The brazed blanks also take over the function of guides for the reaming-blades. Advantages: the TwinTurbo operates at significantly higher cutting speed and feed rates than conventional reamers with interchangeable cutting blades, to produce equally high quality. In addition to this, a pre-trimming operation may be economised and the influence of failures in the raw part is reduced. Machining of camshaft seat with multiblade cutting heads: an innovative tool, specially developed for enhanced profitability in camshaft seat finishing; and application of interchangeable multiblade cutting heads instead of conventional single-blade tools. Advantages: significantly higher cutting speed and feed rates, still ensuring high finish quality; simplified maintenance and cost effective exchange of the cutting elements in case or wear or damage; and rapid adaptation of the tool geometry in case of modifications.
