Smartmotion-2i is an intelligent 2-axis motion control/drive package from Interface Design Associates. With a USB/serial port based communication to a host PC, the Smartmotion 2i is a compact package that consists of 2 microstepping drives and a controller. It enables easy integration into a system, whether it is a panel, instrument case or a control desk. With high resolution of 3200 step/rev microstepping, and operating off an industry standard voltage of 24 V, Smartmotion 2i enables the user to achieve high performance with low costs. In-built IOs are available so that PLC functions can easily be incorporated. Users can control machines with their laptops now. The driver software is available so users can easily develop their own software applications under WinXP using VB and VC++. Alternately, software package is available for laser cutting, engraving and plasma cutting applications (2D).
