Arklite Speciality Lamps Ltd has commenced manufacturing Miniature Fluorescent Straight Bi-Pin Lamps (MFLs) of 4 W, 6 W and 8 W having a distinctly smaller diameter of 15.5 mm, medium Bi-Pin (G-5) Base. MFLs can efficiently and economically replace GLS 25W-100W lamps with energy saving benefits. Available at an affordable price range, MFLs offer selective replacement of bulbs at a reasonable changeover cost with savings in energy bills and lower replacement cost when compared to the compact fluorescent lamps. MFLs can be used in domestic, commercial, industrial, vehicular-road, ship, air and portable lighting systems. The lication areas are: Domestic-study table, dressing table, reading lights, etc. Commercial -corridors after office hours, staircases, escalators , table top, etc. Industrial-spaces between engine parts, behind dashboards, gearboxes, etc. Transport-autorickshaws, car and bus interiors, etc. Portable-in case of load - shedding, camping and outdoor trips, lamps in hand held luminaires, etc. By December'97 MFLs will also be available with Tri-Band Phosphor giving higher light output and colour rendering index of 85.
