Gebrueder pg offers Metal Detectors for monitoring the presence of metal, manufactured by EGE-Elektronik Spezial-Sensoren GmbH (Germany). The Metal Detection System 3000 detects metal parts in non-metallic environment especially in-feed system of conveyors. This prevents damage to valuable machinery if metal parts enter a stone crusher or similar material handling system. The detection system comprises an amplifier and a detector coil and works on the inductive principle. The amplifier has an automatic regulation adjustment, which ensures that metal parts are detected only when they are in motion. The sensitivity can be adjusted. The above system is supplied as a loose heavy-duty detector coil mounted on a frame and an amplifier unit suitable for 230 V AC or 24 V DC. An additional isolation unit provides supply isolation and protection against line interference. A contact output is available which activates when metal part is detected on the conveyor. The systems 3000 and 3300 can be used to check and give information of entry of undesired metal part in the in-feed system or material handling systems like sugarcane crushers, cement and stone crusher conveyors, wood chipping conveyors, waste separators and vibratory feeders. The system 3300 has higher sensitivity and can detect smaller metal parts. The system forms a reliable protection to valuable machinery.
