A very reliable device used extensively in transformer oil tanks/conservators, for monitoring & maintaining desired oil levels. A float with an extended arm detects the change in liquid level and transmits it to a pointer, thro a set of magnets and gear mechanism. The pointer moves on a calibrated dial to display the oil level in the tank.
