FARO Technologies Inc., has introduced a new laser scanner called Focus3D X 130. New addition to the X-Series of 3D laser scanners, the Focus3D X 130 delivers tremendous power, compact design, and the flexibility to perform laser scanning in both indoor and outdoor environments. With a scanning range of 130m, this laser scanner is ideal for mid-range scanning applications of various industrial sectors that manufacture products that are often complex in form. Ultra portable, the 3D laser scanner enables fast, straightforward, and accurate measurements of objects like large-volume components. Combining the highest-precision scanning technology with true mobility and ease-of-use, the new device offers reliability, flexibility, and real-time views of recorded data. With its integrated GPS receiver, the laser scanner is able to correlate individual scans in post-processing. Safety is assured by the fact that the Focus3D X 130 comes with a class 1 'eye safe' laser. The touch-screen of the Focus3D X 130 is as easy to operate as a smart phone. The battery run-time is 4.5 hours, and the laser scanner also has a high level of flexibility and endurance. Storage capability in the form of a SD-card makes the 3D laser scanner truly portable and mobile.
