Process industries have in general cooling towers in excess of 1000 m3/hr capacity. All these have fans of minimum 35 kW each for every 1000 m3/hr cooling tower. These fans have to be kept running all the time, except in the case of spare cooling tower, to take away the drift. As the cooling tower capacity increases the fan motor rating as well as consumption also increases. Imagine in a factory where cooling water capacity required is around 6000-8000 m3/h,. the amount of electricity bill need to be paid only on account of fan motors. In a project stage, invariably the RCC conventional Fan & Fill type cooling towers are preferred because other PVC fills/wooden fills cooling tower have become unreliable as in more and more cases power factor in operation collapse have been reported. However, they also come with a spare, which is a must and add to great project cost continuous electricity bill on account of running fan motor and labour and other overhauling charges. Hence, it becomes a life time expense account. However, Armec jet towers are Fan less and Fill less and if used, give a happy service for the length of its life span.
