Uniline Energy Systems (P) Ltd offers an Ultraline super Isolation Transformer. These are effective for isolating sensitive equipment from line voltage transients, spikes and DC leakage, etc. They are specially designed for sensitive critical equipment like computers and peripherals, medical instrumentation, digital communication systems, CNC machines, etc., and stopping such disturbances generated by the noisy equipment load from being injected into the power line. Multiple shielding techniques employed reduces the inter winding capacitance to below 0.005 picofarad and increases DC isolation to over 1000 mega ohms. Technically any transformer that has no direct current path between its primary and secondary windings provides isolation. Other commonly used transformers, even if they have separate primary and secondary windings, are intended to convert the input voltage to a more useful level. Even though both are separately wound transformers, they are substantially different with respect to construction, specifications and performance characteristics. Ultra isolation transformers are better as these decrease leakage current. In shielded transformers, low impedance path exists for noises to pass to secondary and vice versa.
