Internal CNC Grinding Machine
Acumac Machine Tools has developed a precision automatic 4-axis CNC Internal Grinding Machine, Model AIG-44-CNC, ideally suited for internal grinding of precision auto-parts in large volume. The grinding range is 5-20 mm bore diameter and 1 to 30 mm bore length. The CNC system resolution is 0.1 micron. The machine is designed for use of CBN grinding wheels. It consists of X and Z slide, work head, pneumatically operated motorized dressing device (special feature) and a two-axis rotary work handling unit (special feature). The work handling unit is placed next to the work head. The work head has a built in motor and a spindle speed range up to 4000 rpm. The spindle is mounted on precision angular contact ball bearings lubricated by air-oil. The loading arm has a mini pneumatic chuck for picking up and gripping the component firmly for loading the component on to the chuck/work holding device. The unloading arm has a vacuum operated pin to pick up the component from the chuck/work holding device. The wheel head is mounted on to the X slide. The wheel head housing is suitable to take up a grinding cartridge of OD 80 mm. Any standard make spindle can be mounted in this housing. Features: minimum bore dia ground – 3m m; maximum bore dia ground – 30 mm; maximum bore length to be ground – 30 mm; speed of the wheel head spindle – 1,20,000 RPM; accuracy – squareness 0.002-0.003 mm, ovality 0.001 mm and runout 0.030 mm (max).
