SPA Computers has developed an Intelligent Operator Station for its SPAMICRO PLC SA6 Series. There are two types of this Operator Station: one is based on 9"monochrome CRT display with amber colour background, and the other is based on 40-character/16-line or 8-line back lit LCD based display. The system can be supplied either with standard function keys and numerical keys or keyboard specially made as per the customer's requirement. The operator station communicates with SPAMICRO PLC over RS-232C serial link. Features include: it supports a maximum of 50 display pages; display pages and signal configurations can be made by a user-friendly PC based software package; recipe handling capability of 25, and facility for storing recipe data in EEPROM; alarm/event display with time and date of occurrence; last 200 alarms stored in battery backed RAM with unacknowledged alarms displayed in reverse video; pass word protection up to 4 levels for changing set points, alarm limit, etc; and high speed data transfer, manual function keys and mode selection keys. This operator station with a variety of functions and can be easily used in any process/machine tool application which calls for a user-friendly man-machine interface.
