Insulation resistance tester is a transistorised insulation tester, battery operated type, housed in a sturdy metallic case with separate battery compartment. It operates on 4 cells of Eveready Battery No 1035, 1.5 V each, or equivalent. A press to test switch has been provided. The test voltage will be developed at terminals "E" and "L" only after pressing this switch. "0" adjustment facility is provided to compensate battery voltage variation by 10% of normal battery voltage. Application: the efficiency of electrical installations and apparatus depends on the conditions of the insulation. It is essential that, this is thoroughly checked when new equipment is manufactured or installed and subject to a voltage high enough to break through any mechanical flaws that may have arisen.
