Safest design: modern mono-block construction eliminating cumbersome assembly non reversible, i.e., different circuits cannot be accidentally interconnected; cable clamp on entry point of plug prevents undue pressure on cable connection; plug shroud and cable guard provides adequate protection against arcing if the plug is inserted on a short circuit; scraping earth feature ensures that the earth connection is made before and broken after the main circuit connection; and deeply recessed contact tubes in the sockets keep you safe from accidentally touching the live socket terminals.
