Hydraulic Surface Grinders

Ramson Engineering Company offers Hydraulic Surface Grinders. The base and column are made of close grained cast iron and are well ribbed. They are particularly made heavy to prevent vibration and distortion. The guideways one side V type and other flat are precision hand-scrapped to match corresponding surfaces of table slides. The hydraulic system consists of Vickers-Sperry pump, oil tank, seamless piping, etc., all housed in base. The hydraulic cylinder is made of brass and honed tubes, cylinder rod is of silver steel and hard chrome plated. The rigid wheelhead spindle is made of EN24 steel hardened, ground and balanced. The spindle is driven by constant speed motor directly mounted on the wheelhead and coupled to the spindle. The spindle of model SK450 runs on pair of RHP preloaded angular contact bearings. The lubrication of slide ways is through a centralised oil pump to be filled once a day. Grease and oil cups are provided for lubrication of all other moving parts. Other features: location of electrical controls free from dust and water; power elevation to wheel head and power cross feed are standard for all models; and time saving set-ups for table stroke – adjustment of dogs are at finger tips. Standard equipment: all electric motors and switchgears suitable for 440 V AC, 3-phase, 50 cycles supply; and hydraulic system, grinding wheel, wheel guard, table guard, diamond holder, a set of Allen keys and spanners. Optional equipment: magnetic chuck, coolant equipment, Turcite-B slideways bonding, wheel balancing stand with mandrel, built in wheel dressing attachment, demagnetiser, dust exhaust equipment, radius and angular wheel forming attachment, plain vice, universal vice, swivel vice, additional wheel flange and machine lamp.
