Asquith Butler from the UK, the world-renowned machine tool manufacturer has now entered into a joint manufacturing agreement with Sharpline Machinery Pvt Ltd, Pune. The partnership is to manufacture the range of both horizontal and vertical machining centres at the Pune plant. The first machine to be manufactured for a leading ‘Blue Chip’ customer is the Powercentre HPF-S, which comes with a ram size of 450 x 450 mm, spindle power of 37 kW, and axis travels of X = 6000 mm, Y = 2500 mm+, and Z = 1250 mm, in its standard configuration. The range of machine options includes auto indexing heads, ATC, through spindle coolant, probing, and CNC control systems of either Siemens 840 D or FANUC 0i/31i series. This versatile machining centre will be officially launched in January 2009 at the IMTEX 2009 Exhibition in Bangalore.
