High Voltage Breakdown Tester
High Voltage Breakdown Tester is used to certain the quality of insulation material before their usage in electrical applications and its useful for measurement of breakdown voltage of electrical transformers, cables & wires, insulation material & components. The test level depends upon the working voltage of insulation material / electrical apparatus or as per IS requirements. The standard specifications for various electrical apparatus specifies power frequency voltage withstand tests at different levels depending upon the working voltage of electrical apparatus.
- HV tester is designed to give an adjustable AC or DC high voltage supply
- Voltage is provided through an isolated secondary winding of a high voltage transformer
- Primary of the transformer is fed a variable voltage through a variac
- Voltmeter is directly calibrated to give the output voltage of the high voltage coil at no load
