High Speed Hobbing Without Use Of Coolant

The LC 82 CNC gear hobbing machine has been designed for high speed hobbing with carbide hobs without using coolant. The machine has a small footprint as well as a high RPM for bob and workpiece table. There is a maximum workpiece diameter of 80 mm with larger machines available for diameters up to 380 mm. The manufacturers claim that dry hobbing can result in reductions in machining times of 50 per cent and in costs per piece of 35 per cent.
