Franz Kessler of Germany started in 1923 as a manufacturer of electric motors and today is has become one of the leading manufacturers in the world for high-frequency and high-power milling or turning spindles for vertical or horizontal applications. Other range of products includes: 5-axes heads, orthogonal tilting heads; rotary tables for turning or milling operations; rotary tilting tables; and high-torque motors. The core competence of the Kessler Group is in producing powerful and efficient AC motors. This has involved a lot of research into materials and methods for manufacturing, in order to arrive at an optimum solution for the various applications. As regards spindles, Kessler, Germany produced 8000 of these last year for machining, to which were added 3000 spindles for grinding by Gamfior, Italy – acquired by Kessler in 2007. Today Kessler offers a wide range of high-precision products for the machine-tool sector. Motors are produced by it up to 137 kW. The applications are in vertical machining centres; horizontal CNC lathes; special-purpose machines; multi-purpose machines; CNC grinders – internal or external; for use in the aerospace; nuclear; automotive; energy; or other engineering sectors. The production of low-speed; high-torque; high-power spindles is Kessler’s speciality. It has all the right solutions for multi-axis machining.
