These blenders offer an accurate, practical and economical option for small processing operations. Easy access to all material contact surfaces of the machine, including hopper, feeder, weight chamber and mixing chamber permits rapid colour changes without the use of any tools. Colour changes can be accomplished in typically three to five minutes, allowing the processor to continue to run without interruption while material changes are being made. The machine utilises a four-compartment main hopper and individually controlled portals that meters materials into single weighing chamber. Slide gates dispense major ingredients, such as natural and regrind, out of three chambers, with an accuracy of (+)(-) 4 gm per dispense. The microfeeder adds colour or expensive additive to the blend from the fourth chamber. Each dispense of natural, regrind, colour and additive from the hopper is individually weighed and electronically tallied. Any deviation from specified weight of the material entering the weigh chamber is detected and compensated for in the next dispense cycle. The microprocessor controller also calculates and compensates for any previously coloured regrind, and reduces the amount of colour accordingly. The machine is self-calibrating; it never requires adjustments for accuracy; and achieves an overall accuracy of typically 0.1% of specified blend.
