Generally speaking, glass fibre is the best choice for illumination and sensing applications. Plastic fibre is a good choice for applications not having ambience above 70?C because of its lower cost and ease of assembly. For data communication, silica fibre is a great choice. The company specialises in producing lightguides from glass and plastic fibres for industrial and medical applications. The company has state-of-the-art machinery and equipment for assembly, polishing, and quality checking. Besides standard products, it also assembles non-standard and customised fibre optic cables recreated from customer's samples or drawings, and undertakes repair of fibre optic cables. General characteristics: fibre dia ? standard 50 microns, (others from 25 to 75 microns available); numerical aperture ? standard 0.55 NA (others available are 0.44, 0.58 and 0.66); operating temperature ? standard up to 250?C (higher temperature available upon request); LG dia ? as required; LG lengths ? standard 1.2 and 3 mtr (max up to 9 mtr); types ? individual, bifurcated, multicated, ring and line; end coupling ? aluminium, brass, stainless steel or customised; coupling type ? straight-unthreaded or threaded, angled ? unthreaded or threaded or customised; and sheathing ? PVC, silicone, SS monocoil, SS interlock, SS interlocked with PVC or silicone layer or customised.
