China National Machinery Import & Export Corporation (CMC), established in 1950, is one of the forerunner and largest foreign trade enterprises engaged in imports and exports of machinery products in China with a total accumulated trade volume of US$ 80 billion since its establishment. The business scope covers: imports and exports of aircrafts, ships, railway equipment, vehicles, automobiles, completed equipments and other machinery products, technology imports and exports, bidding, government purchases, overseas engineering project contracting, dispatching technicians, workers and service crew to overseas project, processing with supplied material, samples and assembling with supplied components. The company supplies more than 60 types of freight cars, suitable for various gauges, tonnages and goods loaded. The variety included different kinds of boxcars, gondolas, flat cars, hopper cars, mechanically refrigerated cars, tank cars, cabooses, special cars for transporting coal, grain, cement and perishables, and heavy-duty cars with different tonnages. Some are made of low-alloy and corrosion-resistant steel, which grants long service life. By the end of 1996, CMC had exported almost a thousand freight cars to Bangladesh, Malaysia, Botswana Thailand, Burma and some other countries.
