Dow Corning has introduced Silastic FL 60-9201 Fluoro Liquid Silicone Rubber (F-LSR) for automotive application. A 60 durometer, pigmentable, 100% fluorosilicone rubber designed for liquid injection moulding, Silastic FL 60-9201 fluoro liquid silicone rubber cures over a wide temperature range of 130°C to 200°C. The fast cure platinum technology ensures no cure by-products. Retaining elasticity at low temperatures, the product offers excellent resistance against automotive fuels and oils. Producing flashless parts, Silastic FL 60-9201 fluoro liquid silicone rubber is suitable for use in highly automated injection moulding processes. It allows intricate parts with close tolerances, and enables short process cycle times. It also provides reliable sealing. Typical automotive applications include solvent and chemically resistant moulded parts; intricate parts with close tolerances; gaskets and membranes for demanding static and dynamic sealing applications; extrusion onto wires, belts, fabrics, and other surfaces, and thin and high precision coatings. Silastic FL 60-9201 fluoro liquid silicone rubber is specifically designed for liquid injection moulding. The product is supplied as a two component, soft fluorosilicone paste.
