Flame Arrestor

Chemical & Industrial Engineers offers Flame Arrestors. These are normally installed on the end of the line or above the vessels where hazardous gases are normally vented out. These are used to prevent an external fire entering into the tank or inside the pipeline in chemical, petrochemical and allied industries and refineries. Manufactured in a wide range, the body of the flame arrestor is normally made of CS, CI, SS-304/316 or aluminium as per the process requirement. The internal element or Flame Bank is made of metal sheets and gauges or sheets made of SS/aluminium. The gas is allowed to pass along with the element, which prevent the fire entering to the process on the event of external fire. Sizing and designing, etc, can be done reference to API-2000 and the Flame Bank is so designed that the pressure drop is negligible. Sizes are ranging from ½” (15 NB) to 2” (50 NB) in screwed connection and 1” (25 NB) to 16” (400 NB) in flanged connection. Flame arrestors can be used along with breather valves.
