Kellenberger has introduced a high precision CNC-controlled external cylindrical grinding machine with grinding wheels situated on the right hand side. The Model Kel-Varia RS 175/1000 K90 is suited for small as well as for large series production. Thanks to the revolving grinding wheelhead, grinding operations with straight or angular grinding wheel positions, for example, for angular plunge grinding, can be executed. This allows, in combination with the B-axis, grinding of several cylindrical diameters, left and right hand faces and tapers in one workpiece clamping. The work spindle, which is mounted on roller bearings and offers a roundness of 0.25 m with the workpiece chucked, is equipped with a C-axis. This permits precise machining of unround sections and polygons.
