The exterior chamber construction is in18 swg mild steel GI sheet, interior of 18 swg SS 304 sheet. The chamber is insulated with 5" Puf insulation all around in order to limit radiation. The door is designed to ensure full access to the working space inside the chamber and is made of corresponding materials to exterior and interior construction. All nuts and bolts will be made of stainless steel (rust free). Two-stage air cooled cascade refrigeration system will be provided with evaporative cooling attachment for working in high summer ambient condition. The system is fitted with HP/LP cut off switch, overload protector, backup fuse protection, etc. Low surface loading sealed inconel tube heaters conforming to IS-4159 is provided to add heat in the chamber. The heaters are located in the conditioning space and there will not be any direct radiation of heat on the item under test. Controller: microprocessor based programmable temperature and RH controller-cum-indicator with RS-232 computer interfacing with digital display of temperature and humidity. The racks are of slotted angle iron. There is forced air circulation within the chamber with continuous duty rated TEFC motor for circulation. Two gaskets, one on the chamber and the other one for leak-proofing at the door, are fitted. An observation window is provided.
