Engine Induction System

Engine Induction System

The Engine Induction System consists of the intake manifold, throttle body, fuel rail and air induction subsystem to provide clean, metered, throttled air and fuel to the engine. The result is a total air management approach. The engine intake and air induction subsystems simultaneously to maximize functional performance (acoustics, power, and torque) meet customer/packaging requirements and satisfy regulatory concerns.

Benefits

  • It reduces inlet noise levels with fewer resonators and tuners because the engine intake and air induction subsystems are simultaneously engineered for optimal acoustic performance
  • Allows end of vehicle life recycling into new vehicle components by utilizing recycled and recyclable materials
  • Permits lower idle speed for decreased fuel consumption by combining with mass airflow sensor
  • Reduces material usage for the system, leading to lower weight and cost by taking a holistic approach to engine air management, allowing for the potential integration of other air/fuel component.
