This is suitable for medium to heavy-duty work with larger head sizes and heavy-duty operations. Table area is large and heavy components as well as auxiliary work holding devices such as indexing tables or shuttle slides can be mounted on the table. In machines with auto feed, rapid and feed strokes can be set by limit switch. Typical drilling cycle is rapid. Changeover to feed at preset position and rapid return after preset depth is the important feature. Different cycles such as peck feeding, dwell at full depth and skip feed are possible.
