Elastomeric Flexible Coupling
Dura-Flex elastomeric flexible coupling is made up of two hubs (one on each shaft) and an axially split (two-piece) urethane, bonded to steel, flexible element that bolts directly to the hubs. The couplings have lower torsional stiffness that allows the coupling to flex more and absorb more energy during shock loading and load fluctuations. Most of the stored energy is transferred back to the system, when normal operation resumes. They offer low power losses due to creep, permanent set, and hysteresis of the elastomer.
