Magnetic Analysis Corporation offer Varimac V, a line of Eddy current comparators. It provides accurate testing and verification of metal parts, bar, wire and tubing for variations in physical characteristics such as alloy, hardness, case depth, and heat treatment. The system has a simple set up and runs automatically after set up has been completed. The Varimac V"s features include high sensitivity and resolution, a new, broader frequency range, selective circuits to optimise differentiation between signals for wanted and unwanted conditions, as well as a 20 GB hard drive that can handle all the data storage necessary for set ups and reporting. Used with MAC"s parts grade system, the Varimac V can sort parts at speeds up to six parts per second. Customers have the added convenience of choosing the most effective thresholds needed to detect the exact condition they need to find while viewing the results on a remote monitor, that need not be located on the plant floor.
