Inductotherm offers Drop Coil Furnaces, which the coil movement is controlled by hand valve that operates cylinders within the supposed posts. The crucible is placed on top of the pedestal and the induction coil assembly is then raised over it to melt metal in the crucible.

- The electrical interlock automatically disconnects power when the coil is lowered.
- When the metal is fully molten, the coil assembly is lowered and crucible is removed with safety tongs.
- Pneumatics or hydraulics operations are available.
- The furnace body is constructed of heavy cast aluminum side plates with stainless steel reinforced refractory blocks.
