The SI 13mm drilling machine is well-known for its robust construction and suitable design, both for the production and tool room applications. It executes operations in wide range of drilling, reaming, tapping, boring, counter-boring in steel casting and other materials. Design and construction: the head is integrally cast from heavy duty closed grain cast-iron; the quill carrying spindle is precisely ground to slide in precisely honed bore; the head can be raised, lowered or swung to any required position by releasing the locking device a safety ring is provided to prevent accidental unlocking; the splined spindle in deep-grooved ball bearings is driven by an electric motor through V-belt of four step pulley properly balanced to prevent vibrations; the hand operated sensible spindle feed is measured by a calibrated feed depth gauge; and properly machined square table surface is provided with tee slots and plains slots.
