The Weiler Turning Centre for chuck, bar, shaft, complete and back end processing uses the Siemens 840D state of the art control and digital drives. This completely digitised system has shorter processing times through the high NC performance and an improved surface quality through the new drive concept. The continual processing of profiles without cutting-free marks can be carried out thanks to the "look ahead"speed control. There is also an autoturn option which helps to streamline workpiece programming. Further features include: movement of counterspindle as NC-axis; counterspindle with integrated tailstock function; and a full C-axis drive, also for the counterspindle. The synchronisation of the tool turret with the working spindle is possible, as is rear-end processing with chucks or clamps.
