Cropico, UK, D04A offers ohmmeter that combines a wide variety of useful features with excellent protection against damage from an accidental application of mains power. Highly versatile, this new ohmmeter is designed for low resistance measurements in areas such as rotating machines, switch contacts, crimped joints, PCB tracks and electrical connections. It offers a choice of six different measuring ranges and provides a maximum reading of 4,000 ohms, whilst the lowest available resolution is 10 micro-ohms. This broad measuring spectrum is complemented by a scale length which extends to 4,000; considerably longer than the 1999 count available on most units of this type. The DO4A is also accurate to 0.05% for all its ranges and provides four terminal testing to avoid error due to lead resistance. An automatic zero function has been included to eliminate thermal EMF which is often associated with low resistance measurements. Extremely easy to use, the DO4A provides full digital calibration and is driven via a series of pushbuttons on the front panel. A number of LEDs illuminate when an open circuit lead connection is detected and all other information is displayed on its clear, 15 mm, four-digit LCD. The unit operates from either the mains or its sealed lead acid battery. The battery is fully rechargeable (whilst recharging the unit remains operational) and can be used continuously for up to 14 hours to give total portability. Housed in a rugged, aluminium case and supplied complete with mains adaptor, measuring leads (standard or executive styles are available) and handbook, the DO4A has many applications in the field, workshop and laboratory.
