These corrosion preventives, when applied to wet surface, displace the water from the surface completely, leaving a protective film. They confirm to IS: 1154 or IS: 1674 specifications. The protective film can be removed by kerosene or mineral turpentine or by alkaline degreasers. Description (in sequence of each product): products – DWS-059, DWF-602 DWF-109 and RP-16H; flash point degree – 35, 35, 38 and 38; type of film – oily thin, soft oily, oily brown and oily brown; coverage – 50-60, 50-60, 40-50 and 55-60 sq.m/ltr; and protection period – 1-2 weeks, 16-20 weeks, 30-35 weeks and 30-35 weeks. Applications: fingerprint suppressor, storage of machine tools, protection of pickled steel parts and stampings, and pickled heat treated parts; and temporary protection of machined parts between two consecutive operations.
