ILI-Sales offers demagnetisers to acheive controlled demagnetisation of recharged speedo/tachometer magnets during calibration. At any preset RPM, controlled demag-netisation can be achieved by simply turning the Variac knob till the speedometer/tachometer under calibration shows correct speed.
