Datalogger System for Engine Testing
Polytronics has specially designed a 32-channel datalogger system for testing of diesel engines. This system is used to collect all the data related to various engine parameters like temperature, pressure of various sections, engine speed, % full load, load/torque, fuel consumption, time, etc. When an engine is under test, it logs the data of each engine parameter into the datalogger at a preset logging time. Various parameters like temperature, pressure, etc, are sensed by corresponding sensors, and the output signals are given to the datalogger. In case of larger distance between sensors and datalogger, transmitters are used in between and output signals of transmitters are fed to the datalogger. For other parameters like engine speed, load/torque, etc, suitable transmitter can be designed, output signal of which can be given to the datalogger. The datalogger is provided with a serial communication port through which the logged data can be transferred to a PC, and a printout obtained. Graphical representation is possible between various readings of any two engine parameters. Fuel consumption indicator is used to determine the rate of fuel consumption by engine during test. The entire system can be offered on turnkey basis.
