Creative Micro Systems offers Data Concentrator Unit. The CS-DCU is a Data Concentrator Unit that acquires data from:

• Various meters (monitoring feeders) via polling using Modbus-RTU / DLMS-COSEM protocol
• Field devices (circuit breakers, isolators, switchers, power / current / voltage transformers,etc.) - via digital inputs

Meter data is sampled (at periodic configurable intervals) and stored in a file at the CS-DCU for retrieval by the Control Centre via FTP. The file format currently support is CSV (can be suitably modified to suit end-user requirements). Online meter data is also available via IEC 870-5-104 or Modbus-TCP or DLMS / COSEM depending on the protocol supported by Control Centre. The CS-DCU has:

• Digital Inputs : for obtaining the current status of substation field devices.
• Digital Outputs : for controling opening / closing of breakers (in response to commands from Control Centre)
• Analog Inputs : for acquiring temperature, DC Battery voltage etc.

The CS-DCU is equipped with an in-built GPRS or CDMA modem (based on product order option) for connecting to the Control Centre / Supervisory node apart from the standard LAN based access. The protocol support for communication with the Control Centre / Supervisory node are: IEC 870-5-104 & DLMS/COSEM.
