Asahi Switchgear is a joint venture of Asabhanu Group, India and Hirsoee Co Ltd, Japan, engaged in engineering services and power plant project management amongst many others. The Japanese partner is specialised in manufacturing of switchgear panels, distribution panels and has a major market share in Japan. The JV in India manufactures LT and HT switchgear panels to suit the Indian industry with state-of-the-art Japanese technology and manufacturing practices. The product range includes: control and relay panels for transformers; MCC and PCC panel boards; 415 V distribution panel boards; 6.6/3.3 kV single/multi-panel boards; 11 kV single/multi VCB panel boards and kiosks; 11 kV outdoor breakers; 33 kV single/multi VCB panel boards and kiosks; and 33 kV outdoor breakers. It extends high quality in the areas of engineering, manufacturing, service, and strives to achieve customer delight through continual improvement in quality management systems. Test facilities include: high voltage testing e quipment (0-100 kV); meggers/digital multimeters; DC power source; micro ohmmeter for contact resistance measurement; primary injection test kit; secondary injection test kit; powder coating thickness test equipment; and quality system documentation to suit ISO 9000: 2008. The panels have the following attributes: conform to IEC 62271 – 200 and IS 3427; cubicle type compartmentalised construction; customer choice of switchgear; cable entry from top or bottom; type tested to – short time current test 25 kA for 3 sec; temperature rise test at 1250 A; ingress protection – IP 4X; impulse voltage withstand test at 75 kVp; available optionally with 2 trip coils and series trip coil; integral earthing switch as per customer requirement; mechanism suitable for fast auto reclosing duty; mechanism of M2 class; dust and vermin proof enclosure; spacious and liberal product layout for maintenance ease; and protection relays as per customer requirement
