Precision Tools and Knives produces coating substances that are deposited by physical vapour deposition process to give tools a highly optimised life and performance. These Titanium Nitride (TiN) coatings are deposited with sophisticated German technology and equipment. A vacuum chamber at temperatures of about 500 degree celsius ensuring no dimensional distortion is used for deposition of the coatings. These coatings are very controlled and uniform with superior adhesion due to the fact that they are ion plated coatings. APPLICATIONS: On all HSS tools and carbide tools such as drills, taps, reamers, milling cutters, hob cutters, broaches, cutting saws, slitting cutters, dies, punches and many more. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Colour of coating: Gold Film thickness: 1?4 ?m Microhardness (Vickers): 2400 Thermal stability: 600 degree Celsius Dry coefficient of friction against steel: 0.4 Extended tool life: Between 200 and 1000 per cent High Productivity: Speeds and feeds can be increased by 25 per cent and more to give higher productivity Low surface friction: Resistance against abrasive wear and protection against cold welding. Reduction in power consumption: Due to better cutting performance, power required for the cutting action is reduced by 25 per cent and more Cost effectiveness: fewer tool purchases, reduced inventories, and lesser downtime due to increase in time between resharpenings.
