Lakshmi Machine Works, suituated at Coimbatore, has launched a product in its range of CNC lathes. Smarturn is a CNC lathe with 165 mm (6") dia chuck, 255 mm turning length, LM guideways and a 4500 RPM spindle powered by 7.5/5.5 kW drive. It has 8 turret tool stations. Features: high precision machining - large dia high speed bearings, vibration free feed mechanism, hydraulically clamped turret and minimal thermal displacements ensure closer part tolerances and excellent repeat accuracies; reduced cycle time - high speed positioning, turret indexing and use of optimum cutting parameters helps achieve a balance between tool life and cut in time; reduced set up time - interference free machining area, freedom in use of OD/ID tools at any turret station and overall ergonomics ensure minimum set-up/change over time; and economy in manufacturing ensure by optimum cutting parameters, rapid changeover and greater operating efficiency.
