The Tsugami Panther BZ and BX Series Swissturns features high performance and low cost Swiss type solutions in fixed and independent slide models for 21/18 mm work. The BZ Series features fixed slides in three- to five-axis configurations with spindle speeds up to 12,000 RPM, near zero chip-to-chip time, and integral serial spindle motor for optimum acceleration/deceleration performance. Super rigid spindle construction assures chatter-free cutting in various materials while one piece cast iron base construction provides for maximum damping characteristics, says the builder. With more tooling stations (seven OD, three ID), the machine comes in three levels with parts catcher, simple sub-spindle, or two-axis sub-spindle as standard. The machine is also available with two-spindle cross-drill unit and 15-degree spindle indexing for compound machining applications and Y-axis function. The series features Fanuc 18TB control, drives, and motors, and standard equipment includes guide bushing adapter, collet adapter, drill holders, thread chasing function, auto chambering and comer rounding, coolant flow switch, and tool nose radius compensation. With a 65" x 65" footprint and easy-open enclosure for set-up access, the series is designed to conserve space and offer clear access for fast changeover and maximum efficiency. Machine weight is 3,300 lbs. A gang style Swissturn with five- to seven-axis capability, the BX Series is available in three machine levels and offers users a flexible alternative to turret style machines for applications requiring balanced turning and simultaneous, overlap machining capability. Designed to allow each tool slide to work independent of the other, the BX Series offers users added flexibility and speed in processing parts in 12 and 18 mm capacity machines. The Series is equipped with the Fanuc 21TB control. Spindle indexing, cross drilling, and Y-axis function are available.
