The universal cylindrical grinding machine Kel-Varia UR 175/1000 K 90 is designed for external, internal and face grinding operations. As all these operations take place in one set-up, the tolerances of roundness, concentricity and run-out are lower than one 5 m. The spindle head is swivelled manually or automatically by CNC control. The CNC-controlled B-axis enables automatic, stepless angular positioning of the wheelhead. The hydrostatic cross and linear slideways can be adjusted within 0.15 m without stick-slip. The distance between centres is 1,000 mm. Up to three grinding wheels can be handled by the control which also manages their stored coordinates. The machine can be used for single piece as well as for batch production.
