GLD 12 from Gildemeister is a compact machine for extremely economical turning of shaft components. Available in a choice of 3 or 4 axes, it handles medium batch size of simple as well as complex turned parts at high speed with a high productivity level. The standard 3 axes machine has 5 fixed tools. The 4 axes version permits rear side machining by means of a counter spindle, with a possibility to expand the machine with 20 partly driven tools for complex jobs. Modern machine building techniques and dynamic drive units achieve speeds up to 12,000 RPM, rapid traversing up to 30 m/min and an axle acceleration of 0-30 m/s in just 0.05 secs.
