Clamp Sensors
Gem Electronics offers Clamp Sensors. It is designed to be simply mounted over 15 mm (3/4 inch) pipe or linear actuator. It is operated by a magnet fitted inside the tube or actuator and can be used to measure flow, level, or position. The contacts are isolated from the atmosphere by a hermetically sealed glass envelope, as the sensor uses a magnetic reed switch and can therefore be used in a wide variety of otherwise hazardous environments. Fitting and adjustment is fast and simple: place the sensor over the pipe and close the clamp, move the sensor to the desired position, and then tighten the clamp with a pair of pliers.
