CIRCULAR MILLING CUTTERS
Samtec Tools & Accessories offer Circular Milling Cutters. It is available with polygonal inserts for high chipping volumes. It allows: annular grooves and T-slots to be milled in components with great precision. The polygonal connection between the insert and cutter body substantially increases the service life and thus improves machining efficiency. P16 and P25 are the designations of the two basic types of cutters. They are available in various shank and insert dimensions to extend the application scope. P16 and P25 are available in two or three overall lengths. The long variants are made of carbide with head made of tool-steel. The cutters can produce grooves of width from 3.5 -5.7 mm and depth from 3.5 -5.7 mm. With different insert widths, but utilising the full grooving depth, ring grooves have been reliably cut in steel with a fed per tooth of 0.1 -0.3 mm. Polygon inserts with 6 cutting edges give: longer tool life; shorter machining time; higher chip volume; higher stability; increased efficiency.
