Gujarat Poly-Avx Electronics manufactures multilayer ceramic capacitor with technology from AVX Corporation, USA. It is a monolithic block of ceramic containing two sets of off-sets, interleaved planer electrodes that extend to two opposite surfaces of the ceramic dielectric. They are classified into two types: Class-I are temperature compensating type and Class-II are the general purpose capacitors with non-liner temperature co-efficient. The company manufactures multilayer ceramic capacitors in chip (SMD) and leaded (radial and axial) configurations, single layer (disc) ceramic capacitors and metal oxide varistors (MOVs). These are manufactured on highly sophisticated automatic machines in the state of art facility situated in Electronic Estate in Gandhinagar. The facility is an offshore manufacturing base for AVX.
